Chris Roberts, MA, LPC-MHSP

Hello!

I want to warmly welcome you to my website!  Thank you for taking the time and having the courage to seek out help.

I have over 13 years of experience as a therapist in Nashville, TN.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a designation of Mental Health Service Provider (MHSP).  I received a Masters of Arts in Counseling/Psychology from Mars Hill Graduate School (now called The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology). I have experience working with couples, marriages, and individuals with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief, career assessment, and premarital preparation.  Read about my certifications and leadership here.

I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama and received a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters of Arts in Accounting from Auburn University. I became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Alabama before following my passion and becoming a licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee. I have lived in Schladming, Austria; Brussels, Belgium; Weatherford, Texas; and Seattle, Washington. I am familiar with the nuances, pressure, beauty, and warmth of living in the hospitality-driven culture of the South. My experiences of living in Austria, Belgium, and Seattle have given me a greater appreciation for difference, identity, and sense of home.

I provide counseling services in Nashville, TN.  I have been working with individuals and families since 2004 and have worked in a variety of counseling settings including private practice, a community-based mental health organization, and a non-profit counseling agency.  I use a collaborative style of treatment with emphasis on relational, existential, cognitive-behavioral, and analytical modalities.  I encourage my clients to be creative, spontaneous, participatory, ambitious, and directive in the counseling process.

I love my family, my friends, and long hikes in the mountains. Like you, I struggle with insecurities, doubts, fears about my future, and pain from my past. I continue to search for peace, rest, and comfort from the chaos and craziness of life. My hope is that as long as we keep our eyes open and continue moving forward, we can find something better than what we have now.

I believe we all have an important story to tell, and I would love to join you on your journey for a healthier and happier life!

I look forward to the opportunity of talking with you about counseling and about your story.  Please feel free to call me at 615.800.9260.
